SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Physical activity is crucial for children’s overall health and well-being,
GMS understands that a fit and healthy child is a happy and content child.
With that in mind GMS offers a variety of different sports to encourage children to take up as part of their personal growth.
This is through both the child’s weekly P.E lessons and after school clubs with professional and qualified trainers to help the students achieve their sports goals.
Football
BASKETBALL
Basketball is another main sport of GMS.Std. III onwards have basketball as part of their physical education.For STD III and IV we cover basic basketball skills along with recreational activities and from STD V onwards we cover theory and practicals in basketball.From July 2023, GMS has tied up with Sonics Basketball Club for after school basketball training sessions on regular weekly basis.This facility is available from STD III to X.

TABLE TENNIS
Table Tennis is one of the new sports introduced at GMS.It has been added to the P.E curriculum for students of STD VI to X.GMS is developing boys and girls Table Tennis teams to participate in various competitions.In 2022, GMS U14 Girls were the district level Runner-up in table tennis tournament organized by DAYA.GMS also has after school Table Tennis practice for students from STD VI onwards.

GMS KINDERGARTEN/STDI/STDII SPORTS
Physical activity from an early age is encouraged as it benefits a child’s overall development. At GMS our main focus is to enhance and promote the development of motor skills, bones and muscles as well as cognitive and social skills.
Below are some fun outdoor and indoor activities for children that GMS employs with assessments.

OTHER SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Yoga
For young children, yoga is more than just physical activity. Regular yoga practice helps children to develop skills that will help them through adolescence and later in life. GMS has started yoga as a special subject for STD I to IV. Also we practice yoga during PE Classes for Kindergarten and STD I to X.
GMS focuses more on the physical and mental health of our students. Yoga provides the benefits for young kids and helps to Improve flexability, strength, reduced stress and anxiety.

One of the indoor sports of GMS is chess. Chess is included in GMS physical education for students from STD. III to X.
GMS U 14 boys have participated at TALUKA level in July 2023 , tournament Which was organized by DSYA.
GMS also conducts after school chess practices for the students from STD VI onwards as a co-curricular activity.
OTHER SPORTS ACTIVITIES
